Prep to Year 6

The Bairnsdale Campus is the newest addition to Gippsland Grammar opening in 2006 with a small cohort of 46 students. Since these humble beginnings the campus has grown considerably to a current enrolment of over 120 reaching the capacity of 7 primary classes from Prep - Year 6 and a further 2 Early Learning Centre groups. The Bairnsdale Campus offers high quality education committed to Christian principles and a strong development of each child as an individual. Students are well supported through a variety of pastoral care initiatives and encouraged to always achieve their personal best.

The site of the campus is adjacent to the Clifton Waters Retirement Village on Bullumwaal Road at Wy Yung.   This is a beautiful site overlooking a bend on the Mitchell River backwater with elevated views across the Eastwood Estate.   The campus is about two kilometres from the centre of Bairnsdale with good access from all directions.  Many of our current students live in Bairnsdale and surrounding areas with numerous bus routes available from areas such as Bruthen, Metung, Lakes Entrance, Paynesville and surrounding communities.

bairnsdale_trumpetStudents at Bairnsdale Campus participate in a range of academic programs, including specialist subjects in the areas of Art, Music, Japanese, Library and Sport/PE/PMP. All of these programs are taught by Specialist Teachers who are highly skilled in their area of expertise, providing our students with a wealth of experiences. In addition to these specialist programs, our classroom teachers provide all students a strong academic program in the areas of Literacy, Numeracy and Integrated Curriculum.

Academic achievement is paramount at the Bairnsdale Campus with all students' progress and achievement being regularly monitored and assessed.  Teachers create individual learning programs for all students and communicate this information to parents to ensure goals are shared between home and school.   Opportunities for enrichment and support are available at the point of need for students, with the school having an extremely strong individual programs department.

At the Bairnsdale Campus we have built a strong environmental emphasis around all areas of our curriculum allowing students to explore responsibilities they have towards the greater world.  Students are regularly involved in events such as tree plantings, waste watch patrol, cultivating a school veggie patch and orchard and Think Green Thursday to name just a few.

bairnsdale_computer_2At our campus our culture is one of respect, success and support.  We celebrate our ongoing achievements and strive for each student and staff member to continually achieve their personal best.  Development of self esteem and confidence occur alongside the development of other skills and the gaining of knowledge, which helps each child operate successfully in both the School community and the wider community. An education at Gippsland Grammar is a 'family affair'.   Care, courtesy and consideration are important qualities and rules are based on 'respect for people and property'.  Life at the Bairnsdale Campus is exciting and busy, but always fun.

If you are interested in finding out more about our school community please do not hesitate in ringing to make an appointment where we can show you around the campus and discuss the needs of your child. At Bairnsdale Campus places are extremely limited and parents are encouraged to apply as soon as possible.  Application forms for the School may be obtained here, or by contacting the Registrar, Mrs Marji Craven on 5143 6388.   Mrs Craven will welcome all enquiries.
